He had had diverticulitis so bad they did surgery on the pockets. They were probably bleeding badly.
            I had the same thing 3 months ago. I started bleeding out of my ass. It would not stop. went to the ER
             they admitted me and put me in CCU. They had to give me 2 IU's of blood. Did an Endoscopy and a Colonoscopy.
             found the pockets that were bleeding. Luckily I did not have to get surgery, they stopped bleeding on their own.
             Spent 6 days in the hospital, Three in CCU.
