To make a long story short: I get to the Avis/Budget counter and I'm recommended to get additional "ash and sand" coverage (don't ask). I'm given a diagram with all the damages/dents on the car and am told to inspect the car and come back to them with any additionals. I get outside and the darn fucking thing is completely covered in snow, so I only check the back. The dents/scraps that show up on the diagram do not match those on the car so I figured they shuffled the paperwork, make nothing of it and drive away (it was 4AM, snowing and cold as shit).
I have the car for about a week and it had a layer of ice that covered most of it for about five of those days, making any dents invisible.
Lo and behold, the last day we get a rainstorm and the car is flushed clean. I notice a small crack on the windshield. Since I had to return the car that afternoon, I just took it back figuring they would have the correct diagram showing the crack. WRONG. They had the diagram but it didn't show the crack (it was never shown to me). Better yet, the "ash and sand" insurance coverage does not extend to windows, only body.
$685 later I'm home and feel like a giant spikey dildo was forced up my ass. I know I didn't cause that damage.
Have you had a similar experience? Have you fough it? If so, what did you do?
