A high school custodian is accused of stealing money from the book bags of students participating in National Walkout Day on Wednesday.
Richland County sheriff's deputies arrested Aisha Evans, 32, a custodian at Richland Northeast High School.
Evans went through the students’ book bags left behind in a classroom and stole a total of $180 in cash, according to Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott.
Lott said Evans stole money from three students.
After an investigation by the school resource officer and the Sheriff’s Office, Evans was charged with petty larceny and booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
