Very impressive he started training at 35 and beat Vince Taylor! Not so cool dying 16 years after taking up training though. Was he a hardcore aas user or why did he die really?

He beat Vince on conditioning but it was damn close!

Youngblood looked impressive but he also looked like a walking purple-tinged heart attack waiting to happen.  He never should've beaten Vince Taylor that one year.

Hans Hopstaken (RIP) wrote an insider review of that year's Masters O which contained a pretty harsh critique of Youngblood's physique.  I haven't been able to find it online--does anyone else know about that?

Didn’t he have diabetes for God’s sake? Very successful man financially with a happy family life. Bigorexia at all costs is what this looks like.

Vince Taylor pissed off the powers that be, and they arranged Youngblood to beat him. He saw it coming. He goes into more detail in John Hansen's interview.

You're on the internet and have 20,000 posts on this site alone and you mean to tell me you can't open a new browser and type Don Youdblood height into google and find out how tall he was instead of just guessing he was pretty tall by the way he looked? I did the work for you (it took me 5 seconds). He was only 5'9". He weighed 245 pounds in competition and 295 in the offseason.
