Almost 8 hours of what was probably absolute mayhem. Seven dead so far.

How would you have fared in this gladiator environment?

With out doubt. Id have used my UFC skills on all the mere mortal prisoners, then id break out onto the roof and scream at the top of my lungs

The New Mexico prison riot was worse. No fictional Quinten Tarantino movie can compare to the real-life insanity that went on during that riot. Google some of the accounts if you're interested.

Probably a lot of black and hispanic dead inmates. Nobody cares.
Most people in jails belong there. They are too stupid and or violent to function properly on the outside

Honestly, you're probably good as long as you aren't a rat, child molester, rapist, rival gang member, or severely twinkish, and just go with the flow. When you look at these big prison riots, if regular prisoners are killed, it mostly comes from the retaking of the prison.

One of the most disturbing things I've watched on a story that you don't really hear too much about. Part I remember the most is one of the inmates describing the smell of feces and semen in the air from how much some of the guards and inmates were getting raped  :-X0

Surviving one of these with your butthole and dignity intact is a bigger accomplishment to me than getting through combat. This is primal savagery that most people can't even fathom.
