It's funny you say that because the first contest Belknap won was the 1980 AAU Jr. Mr. Illinois. Larry Bernstein was either at the show or in the show and he said no one even noticed Belknap when the competitors were in the backstage area because he looked like a fat kid. However, when he took his clothes off, everyone freaked out at his freaky development. He wasn't ripped for that show but he still won the overall because he was so huge.
