Does he talk about losing to Arnold in 1980 or to Lou in 1994???
Boyer has a lot of interesting stories. I enjoyed those over the mundane winning contest stuff.Didn't hear Boyer until 15 minutes. Way too long to have to wait. Last interview I gave up listening!
Just skip ahead past the sponsors...
Boyer was a great bodybuilder. comes over very well in Johns interview.
LOL,
Boyer is always one of my favorite interviews. A real gentleman, no ego at all and he always has great stories to share for his really remarkable career in the sport.
John can you do Bill Pearl?
Those of us who were contemporaries of Boyer and Dennis and others aspired to win the NABBA Mr Universe title. What a shame that the title isn't as 'important' as the Mr Olympia title. All those older guys are almost forgotten and thosebig titles don't mean as much any more. What was Joe Weider thinking? You can't be bigger or better than Mr Universe.
I believe Bill has Parkinson's Disease now and Boyer Coe recently told me that he has stopped doing public appearances. I can try and do an interview by the phone. I know a good friend of his who lives in Chicago so maybe I'll ask him if Bill is open to it.
Not on the podcast interview but he talked a lot about the 1980 Olympia and also about the Masters Olympia in part 2 of the video interhttp://bodybuildinglegendsshow.com/video-gallery/
