He accidentally grabbed Andy Dufresne’s hollowed out bible instead.

Had they even done a dry run? It's like that Austrian moron who tested his parachute by jumping off the Eiffel Tower but didn't try it with a dummy first or something.

Hahaa!! Didn't know you were a fan.

A favorite of mine

Oh yeah bro, Ray Wylie Hubbard has been kicking around Dallas for decades. I always wondered if that was his actual name because there is a Lake Ray Hubbard and a town named Wylie right by Dallas as well.  I guess so?

I've actually taken that route described in the song when I took a trip to Joplin, Missouri years ago. All of that stuff mentioned is right along highway 69 in Oklahoma although I did not see the Pop's knife and gun shop in Tushka. No way to really look it up either with it being like 2006 and all I had was a shitty flip phone with no internet. I heard the Club 69 building is still there but it is a different name now.

I also like James McMurtry's version as well(the song writer). Pretty good guitar playing on this acoustic version(I think at South by Southwest in Austin)
