That's what I've been reading.  Still though...you have intelligent libertarians in the presidential race who end up getting 2% of the vote...so it seems to me that popularity does make a difference.

Matt can you tell me how many unpopular people have won elections? Popularity and likeability are huge, but you have to be some what competent.

For the record Jerry Lawler ran for Mayor of Memphis and he lost.

Good points.  Maybe the formula is popularity + some degree of competence.  If you are popular but extremely daft, you wouldn't win.  But if you are popular and have a proven track record of being competent, that would seem to be a fairly good formula for success.

In the very early ‘90s I worked out at my gym while Warlord was there. The WWF was passing through Toronto. That guy was STRONG. Benched 455 like it was 135. Jacked beyond belief.

Jacobs is very smart and from what I've heard, a great guy too. He has the potential to go far in politics.
Anyone know what gym lifts he was capable of?
