Definitely yes.

If you work hard you need a vacation for mental health and to prevent burnout.

I think most people would rather stay at home than go somewhere and not be able to post about the trip on social media

The concept that ‘vacation’ requires a trip somewhere has been drilled into our skulls....

Traveling can be fun, unless you do it for a living....

Time off, I rather stay home, cook, play in the pool with the kid, nightrape the wife at 3am and post on gb.

Without travelling or vacations, are people just working and waiting to die?

Or they say "I'll travel when I'm retired", they could be dead before then or their health could be bad or have other problems. And then miss having fun in the prime years of their life.

I enjoyed Cambodia but did not like Vietnam, worst place I've ever been and worst people.

Instead of making their day to day lives something wonderful - actually being able to slow down, take a nap, read a book, learn a new skill etc, many seem to sacrifice the quality of their day to day life in hopes that they will soon have money to temporarily escape from it.

Join the military and you will be on vacation almost everyday!

War zones not included of course, but even then you'll find some good times worth remembering.

This sounds good but who would do all the hard work that makes stuff, fixes stuff, builds things, sells stuff, delivers stuff, writes code, cures people, etc.?

Not everybody gets to play philosopher.  When you work hard you need downtime to re-energize.
