You can make an identical statement about the millions of people in this country who sit in traffic, day in and day out, doing the same repetitive job in the hopes of having enough saved to visit a foreign country once they reach retirement age. Same address, same occupation, same never-increasing salary, and same people as their bosses preventing them from moving up in the places where they work.

Then you have those who actually have an idea, a talent, a gift, or just a marketing gimmick that catches on from a web-based application like YouTube and starts to pay the bills, and eventually does much more than that as the revenue increases from advertisements and sponsorships as well as increasing visitor counts. Whatever the idea is, it's 100,000x better than the first option of working the same shit job in a nothing-ever-happens twilight zone lifestyle that 8 out of 10 people are living.

So, while DP is wasting his time here with posting on a dead site, other people are making money. Absolutely. The reason why those people make money and people like DP don't is that first group has ideas, good ones and bad ones, and after enough experimentation one idea finally takes off. Everyone else has no ideas, don't ever wonder about doing things differently, and are comfortable in the little box they've put themselves in.

But to be fair, some (few?) only work to pay bills and fund their passion-pursuits. Like me. I enjoy my job, sure, but beyond the pride in performing well in an honourable gig and earning what’s needed to keep the Fortress machine going, it’s nothing more.

Money fuels and drives an overwhelming majority. To this end, they forget (or never knew) who they once were and any initial fire has long since burned out.

Job, marriage, kids, and the promise of a few weeks each year at some by-the-numbers resort. Weekends are spent arguing, doing chores and hoisting a few beers.

No spark. No life.

He also has a couple of small affiliate things like Dollar Shave Club and Amazon, I don't know how much those make.

I also think Blaha is slightly above the $1/1000 views base, he knows how to game Youtube a bit by extending his videos past 10 minutes, which pays a bit more. He also pumps out a lot of gossipy videos during the winter holidays which Youtube also pays more for.

Blaha's channel is dying, but that back catalog makes it a slow death.

As someone who fell for the "Job, marriage, kids, and the promise of a few weeks each year at some by-the-numbers resort" gig I would genuinely love to know what your alternative was and how it's working out for you.  Genuinely, because I faced the fork in the road and chose mediocrity (and have a f**king fantastic life I have to admit) - what should I have done and how might it have been better for me/the planet...

My life is quite good, I’d say. I do what I want, when I want. Money’s always available for bills and that which interests me.

I’m a proud racist and white nationalist, and I have zero apprehension to state as much, to anyone, if the subject comes up, but in my day-to-day life I treat individuals with courtesy and respect.
