Dodge Ram No 1 in Dutch pickup truck sales
« on: September 28, 2018, 08:27:50 AM »
Good news for Mr Trump, he wants the rest of the world to buy more American cars and trucks. Dutch buyers are already responding. Ram or Dodge Ram is by far the most popular pickup truck in The Netherlands to date:

Pick-ups januari t/m augustus 2018:

        Brand   Model      Number

1.   Dodge   Ram                   397
2.   Toyota   Hi-Lux           222
3.   Volkswagen Amarok           202
4.   Ford   Ranger                   189
5.   Ford   F150, F250, Raptor   102
6.   Nissan   Navara             74
7.   Isuzu   D-Max             36
8.   Mitsubishi   L200                     27
9.   Toyota   Tundra             23
10.   Mercedes-Benz   X-klasse     21

(Silverado sales in 2018 so far:  2 (two)

Most gas Rams run on LPG (Cheaper fuel because less taxed here in Holland) or diesel

All are bought by people who own a business (No VAT, and no CO2 taxes and much lower yearly road tax)
Ordinary buyers would have to pay about 60,000 euros in tax on top of the truck price, and around 1,700 to 3,000 euros per year in road tax

So even in a small overcrowded country people are buying full size pickups

Congrats to FCA for these results    ;D

Rams are great. I'm a huge Mopar consumer and have owned two Chrysler 300s and one Dodge Ram. But I do like the Sierras and Silverados as well, maybe even more so just because of the front grille design. The Rams are such a quiet, soft ride...I can roll at 100 and barely even feel it.
