If Austin is this bad, what's Dallas like?

Went to Austin. Saw guys like these idiots in the video everywhere and did a 180. Even San Antonio's better, and SA is a shithole. Dallas-Ft. Worth is fine by me, superb airport and great weather in the fall and winter (too hot in summer, can't live there).

2.) San Antonio and Dallas are bigger and have way more crime than Austin.
3.) All the stupid shit in Austin in located in a couple places. Fukcing 6th street/University Texas were all the drunks and stupid young students get together and act like dumbasses. East side, huge poor latino population, gentrification is happening though.
4.) Austin prides itself for being weird and casual. People wear fucking flip flops to dinner at nice places.
5.) Austin is major tech hub, so you get all kinds moving here to get great jobs.

Depends where in those cities. New York City has some of the most expensive real estate in the world and at the same time there are some places where you wouldn’t want to walk around during the day much less at night.

Spot on. It's a big place. Most of the violent crime is located in the places you mentioned. East side is divided between blacks and Latinos except for the areas close to down town and I35 because as you mentioned, it is being updated with McMansions and upscale apartments. It's a very safe city.. unless you are downtown between 10p and 3 am on the weekends or parts of the east side almost anytime after dark
