Smokers, charcoal or propane?
« on: November 24, 2018, 03:04:37 PM »
Looking at getting into smoking and I’m sure the obvious answer is charcoal, but do any of you use gas? Also, is there a preferred brand? Thanks.

I just bought the Sams Club Members Mark pellet smoker for 300. It’s great. You can buy the same one at Home Depot with a Trail Embers logo for 150 more.

Just share that Sams Club login and let me buy it  :D

Was an accident. I think I meant to hit modify to add, but clicked remove and clicked okay. I wasn't paying attention.

But, anyway, my friend swears by charcoal and his ribs come out great. Then again, I know shit about cooking but they are damn good.

Goodmorrow I Am FALLSVIEW

Lump Charcoal. The bigger the better...longer smokes.

You can make your own lump.

You can also cold smoke which is pretty good.

I agree... I was a briquette user for years.. I've converted to hardwood lump charcoal.  Better taste and more heat.

Rub. Never add sauce until the last 15 minutes.

Anything you want to smoke, this guy has it down. I don’t get into his sugar kick on ribs and sauces though. You have to find ribs that aren’t loaded with sugar to.
