I'd trounce them both.....in da cageeeeee
I'm intrigued by this. I know I have asked you about this before, and if I recall correctly, you stated that Randy Couture had said he would not want to fight Mike Tyson in the cage? Something to that effect. How does that make sense though, for such an accomplished Roman-Greco wrestler to fear a one-trick pony? I don't mean to be disparaging to Tyson...but let's just say at his age, I am not as intimidated as I would be of a prime Tyson. Also, after seeing him on Rogan, I think I could say that to Tyson without him becoming "triggered". I figure Tyson is the boxing equivalent of Ed Coan - who was able to squat something like 675-lb at age 51 - so maybe 70% of his prime. So I think Tyson is probably 70% of his prime self. Enough to maybe win a state boxing show. Would that be a fair way to look at the decline of strikers, due to natural aging? Or are more fast twitch muscles involved, making the decline steeper than that?
Also, is it safe to say that wrestling + striking is the simplest training package a man can commit to, and be able to defend himself well? I'm asking because at 37, Jiu-Jitsu seems too much to commit to. Whereas focusing on two arts in moderation might be something I have time for - in addition to weight training.
A lot of questions here for you, Darren, lol. Feel free not to answer. Just curious to get an opinion from a pro.
