If something doesn't change dramatically, I don't see much hope beyond this next election for a conservative/Republican candidate.

All you can do is vote.  The decline will come swiftly as we are seeing the craziness of the younger generations with the embracing of socialism.  Even when their lives go to shit they won't be smart or aware enough to realize what they did.
