It's so frustrating.  The city of Chicago, for example has paid out over half a billion dollars in the last eight years for police misconduct--$113 million in 2018 alone.  And yet, the taxpayer bears the brunt of it.  Nevermind the fact that police officers being investigated are typically placed on administrative leave, ie: a paid vacation.

I am grateful for the presence of police and I understand that they do not have an easy job, but they are well-compensated and voluntarily chose their career.  I do not think it is unreasonable that they be held to a higher standard than a civilian.  Accordingly, I feel that this should include stiffer penalties for the types of behavior exhibited in the OP.

The problem is that you don’t need cops in these areas. You need zookeepers:

The homicide numbers have been dropping 2 years in a row now, I think that things are headed in the right direction.

Another one out of the beautiful city of Newark NJ. Initially a traffic stop but they take off and one ends up dead the other shot in the face. There was supposedly a gun in the car and the officer said it was pointed at him during this keystone cops chase.

Other officers telling him to stay in the car and "chill" but he kept getting out and firing and finally shot them both.
