Who's The real ambassador of BB ?

Between Arnold and the Rock ?

I was going to make this thread Monday, (but had the day off from work so took a break from this site as well ) I swear I had no idea The Rock was going to have his own IFBB show by now ….

But still  Arnold is the king of BB  ……   But, how much has he really been an Ambassador for bodybuilding ?

leaving all the political hate aside ( if you can ) As I have said here in the past, Arnold is always in barracuda mode , he hasn't pushed bodybuilding as much like everybody says he has …

When he was at  his peak in fame, I always wondered why he was saying that he needed to be leaner and show less muscle in Hollywood to be taken seriously . when muscular body was what took him there in the first place ….made him different from the pack ,

Ever since he retired from BB, he NEVER made an article or a photo shoot training or talking Bodybuilding 80's,90's  ….he would go to Joe Weider constantly to be on the cover of a muscle magazine ONLY when he was promoting Comando,Predator ,Total Recall etc … he never ever again was featured in the gym in his mid 30's and beyond  (the Rock is 47 years old) …

When he was asked about bodybuilding in mainstream media , he would say briefly how his mind was to win the Mr.Universe  as a stepping stone, never mentioned the Olympia or even helped the viewers understand that the Mr.O is the biggest BB tittle in the World .

Although he has his own BB contest with his ( own name on it) , he Never pushed a young Bodybuilder or passed the torch , even though his bodybuilding image is 50 years black and white old .

When Levroneee (It's Levroneeeee bitches) won the Arnold 20 years ago he begged Arnold for a small role in End of Days movie …..all Arnold did was take him behind the scenes to see some scenes being filmed and gave him a promo t Shirt of the movie  !!!!  …..  In the Generation Iron movie he agreed to give 2 mins back stage at an expo so he can say " people see the big muscles but there's no talent behind it !"  I mean, I can go on and on …..  my point is that The Rock is more of an Ambassador of bodybuilding that Arnold could or has ever been     just grab any of his movies and watch it …… and he wasn't even a pro BB   more kudos to him

WoooSHHHHH BARRACUDA MODE

Did Arnold upset you in some way?

Arnold could have walked away completely from the sport and shunned it, when his acting career took off. Instead, he continued to promote contests, from the 1970s through to the current day. There is a contest with his name on it which has been going strong for three decades. Each year, Arnold travels across multiple continents to be there in person at his events and his events are only getting better, reaching more parts of the world than just Columbus. The Arnold Classic is the "go to" expo in the fitness industry.

The Rock is a great ambassador for the fitness industry but so is Arnold. Just because The Rock comes in, doesn't mean Arnold is leaving. He knows his roots are tied heavily to bodybuilding and is still the most well-known bodybuilder on the planet.

Not at all ,  to me he is the greatest bodybuilder ever. I'm his biggest fan, actually the main threads about him in this board are started by me ……..

I'm simply asking who's the biggest ambassador of bodybuilding between him and the Rock ….

and of course throwing my 2 cents as why I think at the end of the day a wrestler has done a better representation of a muscular man in mainstream media than he has .

There's more to representing bodybuilding than showing off your muscles 24/7. Arnold can wear a polo t-shirt and loose slacks and train pretty quietly without need for any fanfare, and still promote bodybuilding extremely well. There comes a point in your life (if you're lucky) to where you stop trying to show every inch of your body off for the adoration of the crowd and begin promoting things in different ways. It's about evolving and adapting.

What Dwayne Johnson is doing is exactly what Arnold did more than three decades ago and continues to do to this very day. They're both great promoters or fitness and bodybuilding.

Just because one is newer, doesn't mean one is better.

Between Arnold and the Rock ?

The Rock is in better condition and relates better to younger audiences. Arnold put bodybuilding, as we know it, on the map. IMO, it is a tossup.

lol...  Nobody is talking about showing your muscles 24/7"   Sly is a great ambassador of bodybuilding because he made working out popular and he hasn't had a heart attack or look as fragile as Arnold does for the past say, 20 years ?  …. Take Lou Ferrigno,  for the average joe he is bigger and stronger than Arnie, another great ambassador of BB, he wasn't as charismatic but everything he accomplished was based on being muscular and in shape at any age …..  I don't know I could be wrong , but Arnold is more of an ambassador of Arnold than anything else …

Arnold's been promoting BB since 1976 (43years),he put bodybuilding on the map. We've just heard the rumours  that the Rock is creating a big show and you already are comparing him to Arnold. Only time will tell who is going to be the better ambassador between the 2 but as things stand now the Rock has a lot to do to catch up.

You are out of your mind, old fellow. It's like 70% of people who started going to gym in 80s, 90s and early '00s, started it because they saw a movie with Ahnold or Sly. He is still relevant and Arnold Classic is the largest competition around. Arnold is the mountain nobody can climb.
