It is absolutely contemptible! Both are over actuarial estimates of life expectancy and in almost any other profession, men of their ages would have long retired. What does it say about us as a country that the only people who, broadly speaking, we feel are competent to lead us are so old that they were born closer to the end of the U.S. civil war than the present day? For fuck's sake, in 1946 Ho Chi Minh had just gotten elected President of North Vietnam, Alcatraz was in use as a prison and the bikini hadn't yet been invented.
