When Retired

And youre in your retirement condo, all you may need is this machine, some Powerbloc's and your TRT script to stay jacked into your 70's and beyond!
Can pretty much do most things with this when heavy barbell lifting days are gone by.

Jacked Geezerz.  (Lee Priest not included).

That’s cute, how much room does an adult size version of this require?

A friend has one of those in his garage (minus the squat attachment).  The shoulder press and close grip press is so unnatural.  It's a joint nightmare.

A bench and a pair of dumbbells going to 100 each (10 pound plates) is all you are ever gonna need.

A couple years ago there was one of these on my local Craiglist for $300.

They retail for around $2k.

1.That machine is rugged and smooth but a bit pricey.
Of course a former pro icon like Lee Priest deserves that kind of home equipment.

2.Meanwhile, I'm (Howard) retired, training on Bow Flex Extreme 2 and Treadmill in my basement.

Conclusion - The equipment matches the physique  :'(

If you can get your hands on one of these stations, you are good to go.

Prospot Fusion (or sometimes listed as Prospot Fitness) had a very unique aspect of being a smith machine type but with a free motion bar.   no poles, rails or tracks.  To rack the weight you simply let go of the bar and it locked in place where ever it was.

Company went bankrupt mostly due to being very expensive to start with... but if you can find one it is generally really cheap.

I imagined when I retired that I'd have all the time in the world to spend at the gym. Surprise! That isn't how it works. Before retiring, I'd go the gym on the way home from work at pretty much the same time every day. It was routine. I didn't have to think about it. It was almost like the car drove there automatically. After I retired I could literally go to the gym anytime I wanted. If I wanted to work out in the middle of the night, I could go to 24 hour fitness. The problem is that with nothing to trigger going to the gym, I could put it off until it just didn't happen.

Right now with Covid-19 the gyms are closed once again. My workouts are limited to what I can do at home with almost no equipment and nowhere to put it if I had it. The garage is the only possibility and that would mean leaving my car in the driveway. The garage isn't heated. Even with a space heater it can get really cold in there during the winter. Once again, I am considering resistance bands. There are a slew of manufactures selling them. It's hard to know which would be the smartest purchase. Of course anything is better than nothing, which is what I currently have. The ones I like most are the X3 Bar Elite for Jaguish Biometrics.

Lurker looks decent enough. But its still barbell movements, benching, etc. I was thinking more for the person who's joints are shot from 40+ years of this stuff.
Weird on your buddy's PowerTec, I would think its easy on the joints, maybe for some and not others depending on the limb-length, levers?

I tried a Bowflex once but didnt like the feel of it (wand-wobble). They'll probably come up with many more machines by the time Im at that point.

That Pro-Spot was on to something though, the space saving, the leg-press piece and other attachments. Interesting. Maybe Basile can design one for us all.

The powertech is decent, but just on the shoulder press, flat tricep press and behind neck tricep extension.   Because you are pushing in an arc up and away.  With the flat tricep press if you start where you  normally do with the bar near the nipple area of your chest, with free weights you press up in a straight(ish) line.  With that machine you press up and backwards.   The "bar" ends up over your face.  If you have impinged shoulders, that shoulder press isn't going to work at all for you either.  But other than that it is a decent piece of equipment.
If you have long limbs, it may be a bit more bothersome.

Ok gotcha, I did notice when Priest was doing those exercises it travels in that un-natural arc. Thx for your inputs and advices man.

Prime maybe a Soloflex will work for you Prime?  At minimum try to get powerblocks or Ironmaster dumbbells with a bench. So many real weight exercises you can do. The Soloflex is expensive but it does have features for a complete body workout with veritable resistance. Meaning it gets harder at the end of the rep exactly where you need it.
