Happy Holidays to all the Getbiggers. However you all celebrate today and tomorrow, I hope you have a wonderful time doing it. Earlier today, I had a special visit from Santa Clause. What a shock that was. Well, the guy in the Santa suit is actually my great friend and a former longtime coworker (14 years). He just thought it would be nice to come by and wish me a Merry Christmas. Good friends are so great to have. Like a lot of folks this year, there will be no Christmas or New Years parties except with immediate family or housemates. In my case that's just family since there are 6 of us in this house. If you live in Oregon you are limited to 6 people and it's advised to gather outside. Forget that. It's far too cold out today. Here's to the eradication of Covid in all it's strains, so that by next year we will be back to normal, whatever that is to you. And, here's to a swift economic recovery with people employed again, kids in school, the rent paid up and your favorite restaurant and/or bar open for business. Anyone else here sick of eating at home? Be safe and stay healthy.
I needed a hugFound evidence of termites eating my wood furniture.Last night I stumbled in the dark looking frantically for my cat I slipped and fell into the swimming pool (lucky for me the deepest possible end) and let me tell you all GOD SAVED MY BUTT. I can't swim really and even then I was wearing pants shirt shoes sweatshirt socks. All I remember was thinking OH MY GOD AM I REALLY FALLING INTO THE FUCKING POOL? I was so embarrassed and suddenly I was sinking FAST and instantly looking up at the side I needed to reach to get out. It was too far already and I didn't even get a gulp of air. Being fairly dark I was disoriented. I remember just giving 1000% trying to reach the ledge Suddenly I was on the patio? Freezing cold and dripping wet with NO sign of my cat. Both calves cramped (of course) and I had to sit there for a few massaging my legs. I nearly died no doubt and the funny part is last year Xmas Eve I fell down the stairs and dislocated my right shoulder. I should have died then as well. Merry Christmas everyone
Can we hold off on the hug until the Covid-19 pandemic is over? Thanks. Is there such as thing and an "air hug" like an air kiss? If we properly social distance that might work.
Yeah, I noticed that his post was gone too when I tried to reply humorously and hopefully instructively about his perceived inability to swim.According to my (very) late mother (she passed 28 years ago). I was swimming long before I could walk. But then, we lived on Nantucket. I don't remember teaching my kids to swim. They just did it. Doesn't it just come naturally? Like when the dog accidentally falls into the swimming pool...they just "dog paddle" to the side and climb out.
