Dr. Rand Paul is correct. Up until this pandemic the gold standard for immunity was natural immunity if you were infected and recovered. For some reason natural immunity has been completely marginalized in favor of the vaccine. Nobody and I repeat nobody on the planet knows how long the vaccine or natural immunity will last until time elapses, the proper tests are given and data collected. Already Pfizer and Moderna are considering booster shotes. Even Moderna publicly stated their vaccine was good for at least 3 months and recently changed that to 6 months. Why? Time has elapsed and data collected. SARS COV-1, another Corona virus has been studied, tests results tabulated and the people who were infected have long-term natural immunity some 19 years later. The data collected on SARS COV-2 at the one year point looks very similar to the SARS COV-1 data at it's one year point. Although unknown it could be postulated that people who recovered from COVID-19 will have similar long-term immunity. This is something that should be studied as time progresses. Studies have also begun and papers published showing antibody levels in recovered patients vs. vaccinated patients vs. recovered and vaccinated patients. The antibody level of someone (previously uninfected) who has been vaccinated with the 2-shot regimen shows similar levels to someone who has had COVID-19, recovered and had the first dose of vaccine. The 2nd dose was insignificant if you already had the virus.
