Guys like Ruhl, Heiko and Palumbo are hopefully not the guys that PDI wants or rewards. PDI said they want to promote more aesthetic muscular physiques. The guts, synthol and excessive mass without reguard to aesthetics is a major problem with the IFBB in many competitors opinions.
IMO, guys like Richard Jones, Milos, Benefatto, Ronnie Rockel, Melvin Anthony (though those 2 are doing well in the IFBB smaller shows) should consider competing w/ PDI as it gains stability. Guys who are incredible BBers and have a balance of mass and shape but who aren't given fair consideration and will not win the big IFBB shows cause they aren't 280lbs busting all over ruining their aesthetics. Rusty Jeffers, Vince Taylor, Dugdale....just a few other names that fit.
I still think Ronnie C. is about the best BBer out there but the juding criteria pushed for mass and he took it to the extremes as the IFBB was directing. He looked much better in the mid 90s then he does now. His shape, separation, proportions and midsection were much better. He has more mass now but has lost some of the other qualities of his great physique in that persuit. Plus, its obvious he has visual Sx of acromegally now.
