I absolutely fucking HATE this type of low bar squatting bullshit. Talk about fucking everything up. ::)  I typically put the bar right low onto the meaty part of the traps, still above the rear delts but not on the high side. I do have that stupid hump where the bar rested when I was young. :(
I rest the bar on the top of my rear delts also...........best video I could find on powerlifting type squats on short notice.

Sprint cyclists have some big thighs.

Cyclist Robert Förstemann is a freak when it comes to having big quads. If I remember correctly, he also squats with very heavy weights....not sure how that helps with cycling.

Some of these people these days have the bar so low it's almost halfway down their biceps. Ridiculous.

That is a very cool photo - awesome squatting socks !

I just realized you don’t get to look into a mirror to fix your eyes on something. That must be hard to squat without knowing where your body is positioned ?

Hello Mr. Cook 🙋‍♀️

I have knee high cross fit socks that I wore when I was trying to learn how to deadlift. They’re pretty funny, but I don’t think they add anything functional to the effort.

Today I am going to work on my back and biceps, but I don’t feel too motivated right now because I just ate lunch. My Mom thinks she wants cowboy boots…so that will be the focus of our afternoon excursion.

One of the hardest parts about my first powerlifting competition was squating and deadlifting without a mirror.

It takes a while to learn to do it.

Deadlift wasn't bad, just find something high on the wall in front of you and stare at it. Keep your eyes and head up high.

Finding proper depth in the squat without a mirror was a challenge. Good thing i had friends there to tell me when to stop and press.

Impressive squats Cook.

Forstemann is a big proponent of squats - he does reps at 500 pounds. But he follows it up with pretty intense cycling workouts at high cadence. If you don't do that weights actually make your cycling worse.

Here is a funny video of how much power he can generate:

That pic is obviously enhanced. This is a more real picture:
