That video is a bit deceptive. Prior to Covid they were growing nicely, but even since Covid, the economy in China has rebounded quite strongly. They went from a super strict lockdown to practically a Day 1 start up again. It has had it's ups and downs but overall has been doing ok.
A lot of that video could have easily been redone to blame population increase or climate/weather pollution. But whatever. Up until about 10-12 years ago China placed a lot of emphasis on being a construction driven market. They started shifting away from that and today they are so overdeveloped that their real estate market has practically imploded. The shift a couple of years ago to Green Building Certifications slowed the development craze, but it's still an issue. Some cities have ghost buildings.... buildings where no one lives. China has entire ghost cities. They could practically give away units to every citizen they have.
This is why I laugh when people start the lame ass "WW3 with China" talks. Those people doing the talking have never even been to China to experience it for themselves. China won't be starting or engaging in a war directly with the US because they need our money. China owns about $870 Billion of the overall US debt. (which really isn't that much). Their yuan is pegged to the US dollar. Be realistic, who else is going to purchase the amount of cheap Chinese crap that the US does? Take a look at the countries where Wish or Temu is not available or they won't deliver there. You think India is going to buy their crappy products? A war would depreciate the US dollar there but cause the price of their own goods to rise, which only hurts them even more.
TLDR - the Chinese economy will survive the ups and downs of it's own making.
