It doesn't matter, many will be broke. Read up on Allen Iverson as an example. NFL is much worse without guaranteed contracts where 75% file bankruptcy within a couple years of retirement.

Different eras when Iverson played even though it wasnt that long ago. But agree to disagree. You'd have to be complete idiot to blow through 300 million in guaranteed money.

The era doesn't matter. Most professional athletes come from poverty backgrounds. Their parents were dirt poor for a reason. Having millions of dollars dumped in their laps at 20 years old doesn't cure the mindset of "spend, spend, spend" every dollar you get.

I hear you. I'd just like to think that this generation of young professional athletes are a little more careful with their money nowadays.
