Street behind Golds is the worst ever. Patrons of Golds won't even park there anymore. It's become a full on drug dealing/homeless capital. Cars driving by all night with shady drug dealers walking up to the cars and doing transactions right out in the open. Bum fist fights constantly about drug deals and "you stole my shit" fights. There is an enormous Public Storage behind Gold's that takes up many blocks, so no residents live there, hence it's the most popular homeless encampment in Venice. Few resident complaints of noise. Tents on every square inch of sidewalk. They have just let the streets around Gold's become the wild west of drug and alcohol fueled homelessness. Also, all the homeless services are right around there like the Venice Family Clinic on Rose, tons of meal services, etc. And shithole motels all over the area like the Lincoln Inn or Marina 7 that openly rent to addicts that together come up with the rent for one night to have an all night drug party in one of the rooms. If any of you understand the difference between a struggling homeless person and a bum, these are BUMS around Golds and Venice Beach. Ironically, Gold's itself is pretty nice, especially the new outdoor workout areas. They better hope it's not a rainy winter though.
