I first learned about John Brzenk in the Matt Rhodes Sports video on Jeff Dabe:



Is it true that Brzenk has been the GOAT of arm-wrestling for *40* years now?

Legit, 40 years, or thereabouts? Like, straight from 1985 to 2015, plus being close to the very top before and after that - or something like that?

Didn't he competitively do away with that chemical experiment Denis Cyplenkov?

John's beaten Dennis numerous times. Guys a freak of nature.

Larratt is now on another level though, and toys w/ everyone.
recently beating John easily.

But amazing/long career...

But John Brzenk was #1 in the world for literally a 30-year period from 1985 to 2015? Or something like that?

If so, I've never known of any athlete in any sport to do that.

Someone here said that Schoolboy must have steel cables for tendons. Same goes for Brzenk.

Incredible stuff, if he was really at the world level for 30+ years.

Brzenk is one of the GOATs (if not the GOAT) regardless of the sport. Very few, if any, people have been at the top for as many decades as John Brzenk has.

I agree, guys amazing... Too bad he did it when zero money was in it.
Its suddenly becoming very popular with the rich Arabs, etc...

I hate to say it, but the guys from Europe really do crush Americans/Canadians in arm wrestling.

Voyevoda , Levan, Denis, etc. must be all the pierogis!

I will never understand how this is "arm wrestling" as they use their entire body to lean/pull down the other person.   That is not arm wrestling, it's a one armed tug o' war.  To me, it is ridiculous.

It's the same with "bench shirts" and other stupid stuff like them that isn't really related to the individual's strength.  It is just a way to get around reality.

Check out the "King's move" in armwrestling. I think even Laratt uses it.

I don’t mind some body movement but that’s absolutely ridiculous.
