I've seen this posted by other people and have been trying to figure out how it's hypocritical. Before he tried to back out of the deal and was forced to follow through with it, Musk was claiming that he bought Twitter to protect the digital townsquare that was imperative for democracy. In the time he's owned it, he's banned people for embarrassing him on the platform, banned people for disagreeing with him on the platform, tweeted politically driven false information that even he has not tried to defend since deleting it, made poorly thought out policy decisions that resulted in fraud that seems to have affected multiple companies' stock prices. All of those things, along with hundreds of millions of people's data and personal correspondence are in the hands of one man now. Ad industry execs have gone on record that he straight up lies about the company's direction and what's discussed in meetings. If twitter is the digital townsquare, why wouldn't this be something that was looked into. His incompetence in running the company is already having real world implications.
Since the crypto industry is a largely unregulated market that the majority of people get into precisely because it's unregulated, what do you think senators should have done with FTX ?
Maybe I'm confused about the definition of hypocrisy. If one bad thing happens, is it hypocritical to look into unrelated things that aren't even comparable?
