Why’s would Ruhl win more shows? He was a 4th tier pro. He had a couple of good placings at the Olympia, likely gifts because he was so physically unpleasing to the eye, all that matters is the number of shows you’ve won.
That’s why Darrem Charles is a better bodybuilder than Shawn Ray and why Dexter Jackson is the best of all time!

I wouldn't go so far at "4th Tier". When you make top 10 multiple times and especially top 5 (which Ruhl did once), you're definitely up there with the best of them.

Shawn Ray won the Arnold and the IronMan. One Arnold title is worth at least three of those "$10,000 shows". And, then there's the factor of placing top 10 at the Olympia (in years gone by) being more of the measuring stick of greatness than simply winning smaller shows to qualify for the O.

Ray's 12 straight top-5 Olympia placings put him WAY ahead of Charles' placing top 10 just twice (7th and 9th).

I never said that Markus Ruhl sucked. What I said was this whole "Ruhl destroyed anyone pose for pose" was quite inaccurate.

Claiming that Ruhl's form in his NOC win was untouchable, only to watch him lose just a week later to a rookie, makes my point.

Besides, isn't there a thread about the rules changes to qualify for the Olympia, despite nearly all the guys who placed "16th" at the O WON pro shows to qualify?

There's a reason the ASC paid almost as much as the Olympia back then vs. the other shows paying $10,000.
