Star Trek Picard Season 3
« on: March 17, 2023, 04:36:34 PM »
I know there are some Trek nerds on here (don't try deny it) and you probably hated most of the recent Trek offerings. It was woke garbage and the storylines were all over the place.

But Season 3 of Picard is killing it (gets really good after episode 3) It's feels like an extended Next Generation movie. Highly recommend it and you don't need to have watched season 1 or 2 to watch this.

Star Trek by its nature has always been pretty woke, but this only has 80s/90s Trek level of wokeness

I never made it through season 1. Not sure if there was a particular reason for it, it just didn't hold my interest. I enjoyed what I saw of Discovery much more, and I haven't seen Strange New World's yet but I'll be giving it a watch when it's on a service I have.

Season 3 very much Star Trek.  Paramount > Amazon.

Can't blame Amazon for S1 and S2 as they had nothing to do with production. The only bought broadcasting rights. Season 3 is still on Prime internationally.

Are we not going to blame Amazon for Woke Rings too?

I'm blaming CBS/Paramount for overdoing the wokeness which led to garbage (see OP) as that's what they chose to do.

Also Patrick Stewart deserves some blame for S1 and S2 of Picard. They made the type of show he wanted to lure him out retirement.

Wokeness in Amazon and the Rings is the least of its problems. It was just garbage, as was The Wheel of Time.

Wokeness also doesn't always equal garbage and as I said Star Trek was the original woke show. Uhura and Sulu were very woke characters for their time. It had the first interracial kiss on television (Uhura and Kirk) Later 90s Trek had a black captain as lead and also a female captain as lead. All woke shit for its time, but in the end they also made decent shows so people forget the wokeness.

Need names and adresses of those guilty for Amazon of the Rings, Wheel of Time and S1 of Picard!

Picard removed all the woke stuff from the very beginning.   I mean they had one guy smoking a cigar on the bridge, people getting their shit pushed in and fucked, doing drugs, along with some straight up Hannibal Lector.

There's no pretentious...we're more evolved and better than you, no talk of curing world hunger and peace...everything about Picard is about showing the true nature of things.   Its like going to a hotel and seeing it spotless but if you start working there, you see that its much dirtier than it looks
