Because it feels good and, if you do it right, it’s healthy. So what if other people think it’s a bit weird, screw them. A lot of what humans do is weird. Plus it is GREAT to fit in the slimmest waist clothes. Opens up the whole closet and the best clothing purchases from the past. Competitions are a no brainer way to get there.

Live and let live. People do what they want. It's hard to leave something that is part of your identity. But I'd say competetive bodybuilding at older age does more harm than good. Simular to aging MMA fighters. But in a different way for them(CTE)

Well yes, the drugs can bite worse than when you’re younger (maybe you need to be on the “natural” side of the spectrum) and the muscle and joint wear and tear can be a strong negative. But come on. Anywhere as near a negative as with the population at large? What are the two things doctors beg older male patients to do? Don’t be fat! And PLEASE weight train! For bone and muscle health, disease prevention, anti-inflammatory, etc. If you still look decent, getting up on stage in a thong is one way to go about it.

Had Ronny competed this past weekend at the Master's O he would have been the only relevant BB at the show,

Sad no legends want to do the Master Olympia no more
