About fucking time!

Beginning in 2015, multiple investigations were conducted into alleged wrongdoing by the Foundation, including a two-year inquiry initiated by the Trump Justice Department, but through 2019 no evidence of wrongdoing was found. Then an additional 4 years of  costly investigation and still nothing.. this Clinton investigation shut down is long overdue.

This is just another example of Trump failing at something. He and his allies tried to cast the Clinton Foundation as corrupt. But the yearslong investigation sputtered to its conclusion without charges. F.B.I. officials insisted that the department acknowledge in writing that there was no case to bring. The closing documents ended this investigation that top prosecutors had expressed doubts about from the beginning.

According to emails obtained by Judicial Watch, Hillary Clinton gave preferential treatment to Clinton Foundation donors while she was Secretary of State.

In fact Judge Royce Lamberth previously said Clinton’s use of a private emails was “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency.”

However, Joe Biden’s Justice Department formally shut down the Clinton Foundation investigation in August of 2021 after the FBI suddenly dropped their probes.

“In August 2021, the F.B.I. received what is known as a declination memo from prosecutors and as a result considered the matter closed.” the New York Times reported.

And all the evidence is forever destroyed!

The Times reported: “All of the evidence obtained during the course of this investigation has been returned or otherwise destroyed,” according to the FBI.

No, I've actually been  searching  for any credible source that indicates the FBI unlawfully destroyed evidence or even destroyed evidence. I can't find anything outside of far right wing articles that are 3rd hand information and as we know, unreliable. If you would so kindly post a link to the section in the 306 page report that indicates Durham concluded the FBI mishandled evidence I would gladly read it and post an apology. I've downloaded the Durham report and went through the glossary and executive summary which I'm sure you have also , and could not find anything that mentions FBI mishandling evidence. But I'm open to learning. Since I'm familiar with handling evidence, "destroyed" doesn't worry me. "returned" doesn't worry me. As there is protocol for handling evidence. So "mishandling" and "unlawfully" would be important.

The “Times” referenced would be The NY Times. They’re hardly far right. The sources are from the NY Times and FBI themselves as mentioned in the article.

Every police agency in the nation "destroys" evidence at certain times, be it "prosecutions declined" "Statute of limitations expired" etc. Returning the evidence to the original custodian is procedure. So my point is IF the FBI wrongfully handled evidence the Durham report would surely indicate that. It does not. This is an example of when people who really don't know a subject, can be mislead.

I'll try this one last time.

That sentence is meaningless without context. My department destroyed evidence on a regular basis. We incinerated some of it. Crush some, shredded some. Now if YOU read in a newspaper "Austin police department destroyed evidence in _______ case."  You would likely jump to the conclusion something sinister transpired. Maybe, maybe...if I sat down with you and explained that the statute of limitations had run out for that case, or the case was dropped because the prosecutor decided not to prosecute, and it is standard practice to destroy or return evidence no longer needed, you would breath a sigh of relief. Maybe not... But as I said, that sentence in and of itself can be as benign as "The FBI arrested a kidnapper today" Without context it's just saying they dealt with the evidence per procedure. Now it's perfectly rational to assume it is non nefarious in nature. How do we know that? Because the Durham report makes no mention of the FBI inappropriatly mishandling evidence. So thats good news right?

How do you interpret this Times report? 'Justice Dept. Investigated Clinton Foundation Until Trump’s Final Days." Just how many pieces of evidence were returned (to the archives) and how many were destroyed? Is it illegal to destroy evidence from a case that is done and over for going on 4 years. Do we know whether all the evidence destroyed was pertinent and necessary? Did you expect the FBI investigation of the Clinton Foundation to continue into the next century?
