Only mostly Trump or DeSantis partisans on this thread so far, so here goes a broken record from a Democrat perspective, but not a far leftist Democrat:

All the investigations back and forth (and I guess these associated arrests and indictments) have not impressed me very much, with the exception of Jan 6 which stands different and above all else (IMHO). Is anything further on Jan 6 coming? Not sure, but voters will be reminded of that chaos if so.

Trump still is the likely Republican candidate and, then unlikely President. Just too much baggage and chaos for anybody but the devoted.

Pence and Haley and Tim Scott, etc. are all lost causes. Nobody seems to like them very much. DeSantis is a different story. As a Democrat, his election prospects worry me. And lots of people ARE very upset about issues like “wokeism”, crime, immigration, all of them legitimate issues to debate (except wokeism in my opinion which is way overblown as a national political issue although some of it is silly and gets me upset too).

Long story short: agree with the strategy above: get with DeSantis.

You are a far leftist if you believe Trump told people to storm the capital.  No proof of it. Also it's amazing how the overwhelming majority committed nothing other than a trespassing Federal statute.  For that they were arrested put in solitary confinement with no trial for years. Amazing how the left won't acknowledge how they put together video  to push their narrative of an unarmed insurrection. The video they didn't reveal shows the majority of people just walking around with the cops saying nothing. The left won't punish real criminals but will go all out to use law enforcement against anyone that might threaten their power. 

You say DeSantis is the best hope for Republicans. If he gets the nomination they will be indicting him all over the place. The Governor and AG of California said days ago an indictment is coming soon for DeSantis as they weaponize their law enforcement.

I have to believe even the most die hard Democrat don't believe Biden is the most popular President in history with a record shattering amount of votes. Way more than Reagan when he won 49 states. Really, a twice failed Presidential candidate wins with 81 million votes?  He has zero accomplishment except passing two huge spending bills they had to electronically print money for with an IOU with rapidly increasing interest.

Have anyone of you seen "Build back better"?  Now his slogan is "Finish the job." Complete the destruction is more than like it.

Why is it always someone else’s fault or “fake charges”?

Part of the cult mentality must be not recognizing or understanding criminal charges and that he is solely responsible for the consequences due to no one’s actions but his own.

But keep saying the FBI planted the files or that he declassified them with his mind.  Sounds legit.  So legit that not even his own legal team has suggested either of those scenarios.  But a bunch of Nancy Drew’s on here have already cracked the case and proven his innocence.

I would think you would need a little more detail on my various policy views before labeling me, but if you want to call me a far leftist, that’s your right. Yes, I believe he instigated the Jan 6 invasion of the halls of government. And I view it as an extremely dangerous matter. This one rises above all else. I am not fully educated on the  ariousvlegal actions against Trump but none of the other seem extreme to me: Examples:
1. Paying money to a porn star: unseemly but who cares
2. Falsifying business or tax records: unseemly but there but for the grace….. go many of us
3. Civil suit on rape: unseemly but who knows what really went on
4. This latest all the boxes at Mar-A-Lago, presumed innocent unless something truly serious comes out of this, not sure there was any real danger to the nation, but let the jurors decide.

But I cannot forgive him or the rioters regarding Jan 6, and I hope most Americans agree with me (but I do not know whether they do or do not).
