I would think other diets could work as well, possibly vegetarian for a small subset.

My dad has has had crohns for 8 years--he's 70 now. 12" of intestines removed and appendix removed due to crohns. No bag though and no more severe pain. But he pretty much poops right after he eats. Horrible disease to have.
