Bodyparts, Or Movement Patterns?

Excerpt:

"Bodypart training is analogous to cosmetic makeup: to make yourself more beautiful you change the appearance of small features on your face, while ignoring the fact that the rest of you still looks like shit."

That makes no sense, but is unsurprising because Rip A. Toe often makes no sense.

It doesn’t make sense because when one trains bodyparts, he is also training movement patterns. Example: nearly all bodybuilders do RDL’s, which is hip hinging.

Even some isolation exercises are in movement patterns. For example, a lateral raise involves shoulder abduction.

Rippetoe has always been a bit of a whack job especially when it comes to his way of teaching squat technique

Making something simple appear difficult is a great skill.

No shit! Develop a Jason Blaha physique only to look worse than someone doesn't train at all.

So true! Rip A. Toe also recommends no one move faster than a walk.

Learning to squat is very difficult.
You need professional help to learn it.

Considering that you lose muscle mass with age, makes sense to target individual body parts. His approach just leaves you with fucked up joints and a waist twice as wide as your shoulders.

Squatting correctly is a bit difficult which is evident by all the tards like Hanky in todays gyms either going way too heavy, and doing curtsy 1/8 ROM reps.

I learned from Paul Brodeur R.I.P. He went on to be one of the better squatters in the nation. I don’t remember him complicating things much
