The OP disappeared after talking the guy up, and then he failed... Yup, failed again recently...
Very strong, but not "Hafthor Strong".. Or anything like Eddie.
There is some luck involved. You may be in world record beating condition once in your life. Deadlift, or a squat or whatever, isn't something you can usually try and fail many times over until you finally make it, not at this level. Eddie was good for only once and almost died doing it. I think he said his pulse was 200 hours after the lift, couldn't drive home from the venue etc. Hafthor is unlikely to try again. This guy has attempted a few times already, and it seemed he probably has it in him if the stars align just right, but time is running out. I'd love to see him do it finally. How many times can you do a suicide stack to peak? Some of these guys might take 500mg of test suspension and 10 to 20 Anadrol on the day of, with many grams weekly for months buildkng up, risky stuff. There probably are heavy stims like amphetamines involved too (back in the day Kazmaier told hke he utilized amphetamine).
If it was me I'd arrange for a doc to hook me up to a heart monitor, take some blood tests, give me whatever would lower the risk of sudden death, like beta-blocker, depressants, minerals, IV fluids and whatever else immediately after an attempt like this. I remember what Eddie Hall looked like after his deadlift, it wasn't good. He immediately stopped everything it seemed, dropped a lot of weight. I know powerlifters not even on drugs, or not a lot of them, who told me it took sometimes 6 months to recover from a single meet (just 9 heavy lifts). Sometimes a meet was so tough they retired lol
