Why do PTs need PTs

Seems no one can prep for a show these days without paying someone £250 a month online to tell them what to eat.

I know PTs who prep people then pay someone else to get themselves ready?

I see new trainers (or whatever we want to call them) all the time online (and not online) hiring coaches for 300.00 a month.
People aren't smart enough or driven enough to read a simple article detailing a meal and training plan.
Its all out there for free. Spoon-fed and lazy... We have a few gals at our place who all hire the same girl to coach them, the plan is the same for all of them.
Cookie-cutter...  Baffling honestly..  Their workouts and physique has not changed over the years at all...

When I competed I would never do my own prep. The only thing I should be doing is eating, sleeping and training. Didn’t want to even think about it. I only did my own cycles and training

So what did they do for you apart from tell you what to eat?
Couldnt you work that out for yourself

I just eat the same food every day, somethimes more sometimes less..its easy
The only thing you need is someone who will give you honest feedback on how you look, thats it, and that is hard to come by.

I have a guy give me feedback once a week

Although when I did the show about 4 weeks ago he saw me Saturday and said I looked ready

I competed the day after and told him on Monday that I had a film of water by Sunday and wasnt at my best

He said "yes, you had a bit of water on Saturday"
Might have told me that Saturday

No, not since I stopped competing but we still hang out once in a while. Great coach IMO.

As I said, a guy or girl who will be brutally honest with you

I used to go see the same guy for 30 years pre-contest , hes passed now RIP

He never asked for money so I knew he was truthful

Pay someone and they are more likely to blow smoke up your arse

The dieting is easy

My trouble seems to be anxiety on show day
I have still yet to look as good show day as I have leading up to the show or a day or so after

Believe me I have tried every variation known to man including doing nothing at all

Last week backstage I had no vascularity and was watery pumping up, all week I was full and vascular
The only thing differnt was it was a show day and not a normal day

I showed Mr. Universe and Mr. America winner Matt Dufresne a pic of me winning my class at the Southern States and he said "Damn Tim you look great.....who did your prep"?

I said..."I did" !

If I need an honest critique I can email Matt or Dave Mass. and they will tell me honestly how I look.

In 2001,Dave Mass was at my house and told me I was at 4 % bf....don`t know if he was correct ,but I was fucking peeled.

That year I got 5th. out of 8 guys at the Masters Nats and deserved 2nd. place but I was late for the weigh in due to getting stuck in the Atlanta airport for 11 fucking hours due to lay overs,so an unamed person fucked me over (head judge who bitched me out.....also did the same thing to Paul Dillet once).

That was the only placing I ever complained about.

Ty "Ropeman" Felder was a judge and practically told me I got robbed, but not in so many words.

I know an obnoxious "s & c coach". "Studies" guy.

I can honestly say that I'd do a better job just from my near 2 decades of gymcelling. As bodies are so different, "by the book" doesn't apply.

Like the guy doesn't believe in high rep prehab/rehab exercises. When I've cured long term knee pain from a routine I made.

Athletes are morons for hiring these guys. Why do you need to pay someone to tell you 3 x 8-12 of a (workout 1) horizontal push, horizontal pull, safe quad exercise, safe hams exercise and (workout 2) vertical push, vertical pull, safe quad exercise, safe hams exercise + a little high rep band and dumbbell accessory work for tendon health.
