If you're hell bent on muscle growth instead of just cuts you need something like that for sure. And train legs.
I forget, what was low protein to Tuor? Nit sure but I bet it's still high, just not high-high, you know what I mean? Farah had been preaching low protein, then you see a meal plan for some pro and it's like at least 300 grams plus. When compared to another heavy weight at 450 grams it may be "low" but it's still fucking high.
Here's a question for those who say pros eat too much protein, an unnecessary amount. Some of you know who Roman Fritz is. If he is maintaining bodyweight he's at maintenance calories yeah? Does everyone agree?
So he eats:
1000 grams of carbs (increasing to 1500 grams at peak off-season)
500 grams of protein
Low fat I think below 100 grams
You may think bodybuilding at that level is stupid but just as a thought experiment how would you restructure his macros for him to possibly gain even more lean tissue? Lower protein to 50 to 100 grams and increase fats? Increase carbs, which are already at an astrononomical level? Remember this is a guy who is very large with extremely low bodyfat. I know not many here bother to discuss bodybuilding but there are many who have competed and many who live the lifestyle and I would be curious of their opinions.
Like I said, all the largest bodybuilders have eaten a ton of protein, Nasser said he morphed with the insulin along with up to 600 grams of protein after Milos told him to increase it, though Milos suggested a bit less. Coleman ate a ton of protein, Chad recommends like 12oz of meat every meal. I'm sure Ruhl was up there,, wouldn't be surprised if he ate even more than Nasser etc. Some of these types of guys have gone up to almost a kilo of protein a day. Cutler still eats like 100 grams just for breakfast (I might be mistaken but I'm sure it's up there). Kovacs as disgusting as he was was a very large person, astronomical protein. I have to say I don't think it's a coincidence these guys ate so much protein.
I always wanted to try eating 400 grams for an extended period to see what it did for me but I just couldn't do it. It's not certain I would have gained a lot of muscle but I'm positive it wouldn't have hurt my lean body mass.
