That's not how it works - industries are about making money and selling inferior products that would otherwise find no buyers.
It is true that these consumers are weak and most likely of low intelligence but this human-cattle is what an industry that aims for high yields wants. Industries are not adjusting for demand they're adjusting the consumers' to their requirements.

You’re still under no compulsion to eat these products. Compulsion is the government shutting down your business over some bullshit virus, and if you don’t obey you get put in jail.

Good theoretical point but permanent media coverage/availability with little education about good food renders choice a questionable option for the common idiot.
Healthy raw food has been made scarce commodity and not by choice of the consumers.

I’m in NYC. There are fruit and vegetable carts everywhere. Fat people would rather go to Dunkin Donuts.

Again. It’s about motivation.

The answer is simple. They just don’t care. I’m sure all of us here have our cheat days and cheat meals but at the end of the day being fat is unacceptable so you rein it in.
on cheat days I usually stuff myself with food that is objectively healthy, but high in calories and animal fat, huge (for normal people standards) portions and usually second portions. So it probably makes me slightly fatter on such days, but I feel no regrets about it because I made healthy food choices, it probably even benefits me since I am not fat anyway. Last night I had a huge dinner of rice, very high grade beef, feta cheese for more flavor, and as a desert a home made smoothy where I blended up mineral water, grapes, kiwi, avocado, and pineapple, kept all the fibre inside the smoothy, so it was like a thick delicious pudding. Probably has insane off the charts levels of natural fructose, but that's why I only have it like once a week. Still I think this cheat meal is overall still very healthy compared to the average fatsos cheat meal

When I was on the toilet for the third time in one day I did regret eating so much. I dont even want to think about how many times a day a fat bastard is on the toilet and what transpires there

The consumers don't have to buy it. We don't.
