Big Altima Energy
« on: July 17, 2024, 08:12:58 PM »
Nissan has decided to cancel the Altima after 2025.

Be on the lookout for big Altima Energy.  For your own safety please keep your distance.  These vehicles and their drivers are extremely dangerous.

In 2008 actually bought a new Altima because we needed a car that was going to get about 90 miles a day on it during the weekdays, and it made no sense to spend on anything higher end for that purpose.

I think we traded it in with 208,000 and it literally never had an issue.

Bland, boring, nothing special, but never broke.  Had a similar experience with Nissan with a 2000 Xterra.

Nissan (Datsun) used to be my favorite Japanese brand in the 80's.  My family had a 510 and my friends parents had 200sx and Maxima (first gen).  Since then Toyota and Honda have far surpassed Nissan.

Nissan has always struggled against the Accord and Camry as has every other car company.  Big Altima energy is now a meme.  I refers to the fact that Nissan sells to buyers with poor credit scores.  In this case, it is believed the reputation of the drivers doomed the Altima.

The preferred vehicle of the American dindus and dindees. Normally spotted in a Mcdonalds/Burger King/Wendys drive thru near you

The cars went 250K miles if you just changed the oil. They had a great ride and really good seats. I went on a high way trip with one and went 450 miles and I almost had a quarter tank. What's so bad about the car?

Nissan, more than other brands, is generous about offering credit to low-income people.  So it has become the brand of choice for... well... you know.

It's not a bad car, but it has bad owners.

Gotcha - thanks for the clarification.  I really had never heard that one.

Datsun 240z and even some of 280z were probably my favorite looking car ever, even to this day.  I wanted one so bad when I was younger.

The Altima is popular with people with low credit scores, particularly black women.  They are know to drive crazy and the busted  look of their cars.  This has gained the Altima a bad reputation.

Example of Altima driver @1:40 (mute rap music)

This vehicle will not be missed.  I’d take a Civic or an Accord (or any Toyota product) over it any day.
