A lot of the current announcers are college boys without a true voice for radio

Former NY Yankees radio broadcaster John Sterling had a very good radio voice.

Vin Scully was great in his day. As was Pat Summerall.

In my opinion Keith Hernandez is excellent too.

    this was the best announce team IMHO, they had to be separated because they were also drinking buddies and it was said if they continued they would have drank themselves to an early death. Summeral got the announcing job when the network called his room to talk to QB charlie connery about an announcing job calling football, but connery was in the shower and the network guy said to Summerall say you have a good voice would you like the job. the rest is history.
