This is good news.

However, I was told by someone in canada on my work team who will be working in the US for a while that they are still required to get the covid vax.

are you sure it isnt Canada telling people its a requirement as opposed to the USA demanding it?

As a former navy nuke, I'd have to requalify for all the watch stations.  I might be reassigned to a different ship, so I'd be starting from scratch.

It's a good move, but the reintegration into the ranks would be challenging.
