I have a slight tear in mine. Happened a couple years ago deadlifting.
It hasnt gotten worse, and really only shows if stomach is very full / bloated.
I do keep an eye on it will get it fixed eventually (if it worsens).
Yep it would pop out like a turkey temp check on a full stomach when you try and flex it pops out.
I get it. It doesn't affect your day-to-day life and it seems manageable why bother getting it repaired. You are old you are not competing. The problem is you then apply the same logic to a partial pec tear and a disconnected bicep tendon the list just keeps growing and the next thing you know you have half a dozen broken things that are just not broken enough to fix??
My old house was like that. Cabinet doors, lights, hot water handles, railings, locks, etc just little things but it starts to add up next thing you know it is overwhelming.
I got a list and it's longer than it should be at 47 years old. But I am done letting it grow. I am working through the punch list now. Hernia check, Pec check, next stop shoulder and bicep tendon. Yeah it sucks I would rather be lifting but if you don't keep up with the maintenance you are just driving a broken down car get it fixed up then add the racing fuel that turbo isnt doing shit when you only have 3 wheels
