Bodybuilding judging doesn‘t make sense and is completely arbitrary. Urs brought his shape from classic physique and was the most aesthetically pleasing on stage but the top 5 competitors had like 15 lbs of muscles on him. I‘m sure Social Media followings play a huge role in the judges decision. He has over 1.7 millions followers on IG. Nobody else on the stage comes close. Of course you want someone like that winning your show.

Lastly, he brought his conditioning from classic physique and was the most shredded competitor on stage. This does not make sense. Why are the classic guys more conditioned than open bodybuilding? I guess you can make an argument on Urs winning the show because of his conditioning. But to keep growing and be competitive on the to Olympia stage he will soon lose his classic look. He simply cannot compete on size in open bodybuilding. Arms looked tiny vs the top 5.

Maybe the open guys can sort of skate by with so-so conditioning and still do well. Urs fighting to get to comp weight sure helped his conditioning in classic too, though conditioning has to be tip top to do anything there. What he did here is "gain" muscle obviously but also could fill out to the max so extra water accounts for a good bit.

Seems there weren't many complaints about Urs winning even among open bodybuilders but I didn't look much. I checked Sergio's IG and he didn't look that impressive to me. He posted some comparisons of him hitting a rear double differently and in his mind looked much better for it. I don't see it, looked bigger in the before shots. It also looks like he has almost no lats at all. What do getbiggers think?
