As this year comes to an end, I hope the year has been good to my brothers in iron.
I've enjoyed 2025 with one notable exception: August 12, when I ruptured my left quadricep tendon doing leg presses. I got crunched at Crunch Fitness. I had surgery September 4 and was bedridden for two days. I spent nearly two months with my left leg locked in a leg brace (which included my family vacation in Jamaica....the LAST place you want to go on a bum wheel).
I've undergone 10 weeks of rehab, twice a week. That has since been reduced to once a week. Unfortunately, this setback cost me some major fitness progress. I was back up to 245 lbs and got my arms back over 18" before my injury. My back had improved; I was incline pressing 315 for 4-5 reps (which I hadn't done in a while).
I dropped down to 230 before I could go back to training full bore. Right now, I'm back to 240 and am down to a soft knee brace, which I wear only when I train.
Nonetheless, I've had other blessings this year. My daughter graduated from college and is now looking to get into law school. I celebrated my 23rd year of marriage with my wife. And I'm enjoying my job in water/wastewater engineering.
Barring any more injuries, I will set and achieve more fitness goals as well as personal and family ones. I hope all of you do the same.
Merry (belated) Christmas and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
EAT, DRINK, AND BE MASSIVE, MY BROTHERS!!!
