I think they use a fish oil so yes and no.  The smoked version of either have tons of fat and additives to create the smokey flavour.

may want to be careful.  Many times the oil they use is soybean or veggie oils.  They are usually packed with sodium too.

yep...they are something...I think they call it noodling. I saw it on tv once and one guy went under to check a log for a fish...next thing ya know he and the fish roll onto the surface of the water and he yells hey I need some help over here...his arm was in the fish's mouth and had clamped down on it and he was in a wrestling match ..hahah.it was a big mo fo they barely got it in the boat.I quit cat fishing when I quit drinking. :-\...it is just too boring to sit on a river bank all night sober...can't do it.

I didn't completely quit catfishing...but I don't go that often. We used to always go to the river just before dark and stay til daylight..fishing for flat head. I wouldn't mind try'n the noodling..but it is illegal here...Plus,just imagine reaching up into a submerged log expecting to find a catfish...and there is a turtle instead...bye bye finger.

Eat them fresh and then there's nothing to worry about.  I'm stuck in Boston on an expense account this week, so tons of fresh sea food, raw oysters, mussels, tuna steak, tilapia, salmon, swordfish, lobster.  I tell the restaurant to hold the oils and sauces and then I eat as much as my belly will hold and my boss will pay for.
