I lost life changing amounts of money due to brazen greed, hubris, and sheer stupidity on alt coin rugs. The only thing that keeps me from jumping off a cliff is that gib could be right and bitcoin will go to a million. The 1 (one) bitcoin I have may therefore one day make me whole again.

In before (accurate and deserved) sentiments in the replies such as
-Very sad and many such cases
-another pleb rekt to Gehenna, bypassing Sheol in one fell swoop
-no crying in the casino
-thanks for your sacrifice on the altar of our success
-get fuckt maggot and die

Anyway, it ain't over yet, the sun is still shining...

Sorry to hear that bud - I did warn, and have said many time, every cycle these lessons are learned. There is no reliable short cut to acquiring more BTC. "Alts" can be printed out of thin air, and this is exactly the same problem that exists with fiat currencies. BTC was created as the solution against this problem. Alts are just as trick to get you to part with your BTC.

Hold that 1 BTC you have. Never ever let it fall into more powerful hands. They will try all sorts of tricks, scams, pressures, schemes, laws etc, to try to shake you out.

You will be in an amazing position in the world if you remain a whole coiner. That level of control over the economic energy represented by a single coin, will provide you significant power and security in the years ahead.

Thanks. What are your views on methods of custody? Many are against keeping it on exchange but keeping it offline also comes with its own set of risks

Very well done. Hard to know what price hits when, you picked it.

What do you think for 2026 in general?

My crystal ball says for 2026 the high will be 148k.

I had a few people message me asking when will it be BTC's turn to rocket, like Gold and Silver. The answer is, it WILL happen. When exactly I am not sure. It depends on numerous factors. But what I can tell you all - when it happens, it will be EPIC. You truly will want to be on board and enjoy the ride. Buy your ticket now, whilst sentiment is weak. BTC will go insane once the supply (from OG selling) vs demand (from the rest of the world), goes into disequilibrium.

* I can't wait to re-quote this quote, at some point in the future. You all know I will...

Bottom runs up:

BTC did 15.5k to 126k

Gold did 1.6k to 5.1k

Why do people want BTC performing worse than it has ???

Possibly. Its more of a short term narrative that Monero and ZCash "offer more privacy". This will shortly be solved for BTC (indeed it already is if you know what you are doing). Ignore the hype - BTC, and hodl. There will always be an infinite number of alts (old and new) that are hyped up from time to time...

Monero is not holding up well. It was $720 less than 2 weeks ago and is now trading at $468.

I read that hackers converted BTC into XMR recently which could explain the spike in price.

A $280 Million Bitcoin Heist Leads to Monero Price Rally

A crypto investor has lost more than $282 million in Bitcoin and Litecoin after falling for a social engineering scam involving a hardware wallet.

On January 16, on-chain investigator ZachXBT revealed the massive theft, which reportedly drained the victim’s account of 2.05 million Litecoin (LTC) and 1,459 Bitcoin (BTC).

Blackrock files for a yield paying BTC ETF fund.

https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2026/01/26/blackrock-doubles-down-on-bitcoin-fund-offerings-with-income-focused-filing
This isn’t “yield” in the Ethereum sense. ETH staking is native, compounding, and doesn’t cap upside — it comes from securing the network. Bitcoin has no native yield, so this ETF manufactures income by selling call options, i.e. pre-selling future BTC upside. That’s fine for income investors, but it structurally underperforms in strong bull markets and doesn’t increase BTC exposure over time. It’s volatility monetization, not protocol yield.

I only care about ETH's price.

Fidelity Launches USD Stablecoin on Ethereum

Fidelity Investments is launching its first stablecoin, the Fidelity Digital Dollar (FIDD), based on the Ethereum network.

FIDD will be backed by reserves of cash, cash equivalents, and short-term U.S. Treasuries managed by Fidelity, in line with the new federal GENIUS Act's standards for payment stablecoins.

The stablecoin targets use cases such as 24/7 institutional settlement and onchain retail payments, putting Fidelity in direct competition with dominant issuers like Circle’s USDC and Tether’s USDT while laying groundwork for future onchain financial products.

“This is really just the next step in the evolution of our digital asset platform,” said Mike O’Reilly, president of Fidelity Digital Assets, in an interview. “The ability to offer a fiat-backed stablecoin fits naturally into what our clients are asking for—especially around low-cost payments and settlement.”

Because risk.

Gold and Bitcoin are in a room chatting. Let's say a dude walks into that room with dynamite strapped all over him.

Gold stays to see how it plays out.

Bitcoin fucks off when the guy walks in.

Bitcoin won't go rushing back into the room until it either sees the dynamite guy leave or hears a bang.......
