PORTLAND, OREGON OF PEACEMan waiting to board a train was shot with a 6-inch barbed dart that punctured his lung and nearly killed him
40-year-old Joseph Naes was sentenced to 70 months in prison for the attack.
Police say that Naas fired the barbed dart into Logan Sharp's back as he waited at the MAX Blue Line platform in a suburb of Portland, Oregon.
The dart pierced his lung, causing it to collapse. Sharp was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery and survived,
Police say that the attack was part of a revenge plot.
A week before Naas shot the 33-year-old, Sharp stepped in to help a woman who was being assaulted by Naas. As Naas hit the woman in the head, Sharp told him to 'knock it off'
Naas then targeted sharp, admitting to investigators that he had recognized Sharp from that day, and decided to shoot him with the dart.
After the dart hit Sharp, Naes celebrated before taking off with the woman who appeared to be the one he had assaulted.
Naas was sentenced in August of 2025 after pleading guilty to second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
