That is a beautiful thing, you call everyone else on their shit and then you are stuttering like a little girl when they call you on yours...

Anyway, I let that go, until Shawn decided to start a little photo war with me today. So, I made up a few vyo pics.

Post some pics of him then. After all, he's posting pics of you.

Why make up pics?

Just post pics of Shawn Ray. I'm sure there are plenty of him in just speedo's. All over the net.

Don't start off with the pro show, start with some amateur show in Florida where there is a lot of people living.

You've offered plenty of opinions on how to run a contest here as well IMO.

I'm sure you'll get lots of help from all these people you've managed to befriend here over the months you've been a member. 8)

Make it an NPC event and I'll kick in $300.

I forgot all about the sanctioning fees.  The mens show was $10,000 and the womens was $4,000. Those are the normal numbers.  Also, in regards to the spnsorship money.  Not counting the Hummer and from what was listed on his poster and website; myself and 3 other very prominent promoters figure the most those sponsors put in equals no more than $80,000.  If so then these other guys would be pissed.  All the prize money was covered from this.  And as you know sponsors don't always pay on time or all of it at once or whatever.  Allot of those sposnors listed were not cash sponsors.  Do you think any of those magazines paid a dime.  I highly doubt more than just a few of the local sponsor gave cash but rather than product.  Now the big question is how much VYOtech put in exactly.  They provided the 1st place and the Hummer.  That right there is a $55,000 investment.  I want ot know who paid for the convention center which is definitely the big cost here besides the prze money.  Who paid all the travel expenses for Sean, Manion and the judges.  They are there for 3 days, plus airfare, plus per diem, plus pay.  That adds up too.  I just don't se where everything is.  Ticket sales at the expo was non-existant.  The other shows did they cost money to see.  Even if he sold 1000 stickets at an average price of $50 that still just $50,000 plus the center gets there cut usually.  But no way in the whole wide world was there 1000 paid tcikets.  And unless they pay an unbias accouting firm like Arthur Anderson to keep track and monitor ticket sales then whatever they say will be balloned all out of proportion to make them look good.  Which is fine but not real.

Okay off to the gym now I go

See, I would go for a niche.  Tre and I could put on a Female show, rent out a 75 seat auditorium, fly out the richest schmoes around, charge $250 per seat to get in.  They get to meet and schmooze with the girls in a nice candlelit place.  The evening culminates with a play showdown, which is judged based upon the webcast votes.  Girls, tre, and I split the profits- athletes get paid based upon the number of votes (and webcast customers) they generate.  Then, you have the girls getting paid based upon how many virtual tix they sell, and more likely to win as their schmoes will vote for them.  This is just off the top of my head.

Tre, you think we could do okay with this?

There are no quick fixes.

There really aren't.

Get to work on that 2008 show instead.

i doubt the fire inspector would go for candlelight in a public hall.  you better rethink that part.

The venue is going to run $1000, and lighting will be another $1000.  Allow another $1000 for miscellaneous.  The sanctioning fee shouldn't be more than $500.

Let's go $50-100 per ticket and the gate would be about $3500.

The webcast would pull about $3000, and quite possibly more, depending on how we packaged it.

That's $3000 profit, which isn't a huge return on the amount of time/work we'd have to put into this thing, but it wouldn't be a bad number for a first-year event either.  Keep in mind that I'm not counting anything for entry fees or sponsorship contributions.

It's doable.

Tre, I might have to learn the schmoe secret handshake.  I'm starting to see the light.
